Water Utilities Climate Alliance

Pathways Climate Institute collaborated with New York City and Philadelphia stormwater and wastewater utilities to leverage previous efforts between Pathways, WUCA, San Francisco agencies, and national labs for the New York and Philadelphia Regional Extreme Precipitation Study: Scaling and Application of Climate Projections for Stormwater and Wastewater Resilience Planning.

Pathways leveraged analysis frameworks, including HyperFACETS and ICoM storyline approaches, to apply the latest precipitation modeling and provide the best available science to decision makers and stakeholders as they invest in infrastructure programs. Pathways also led the development of a white paper to serve as a guidance for research in regional precipitation projections that could support better decision making related to climate change.

This engaged expertise from climate scientists, engineers, and academics in a collaboration to meet the needs of multisector end users, including utilities, transportation agencies, and a variety of city-level departments.
