All of our staff have unique talents that contribute to our growing bench of climate adaptation projects. We love to mentor newly minted or current graduate students through our internship programs. Occasionally, we may also have a need for a full-time hire as our firm grows. Open internships and positions are noted below. If you don't see anything listed, we may not have anything open right now.

GIS and Data Analyst: Closed on 11/7 while applications are reviewed!

We are looking for someone that loves to analyze data (lots of data!), knows the ArcGIS environment, enjoys automating processes, and has programming experience -- particularly python.

Our ideal candidate would be:

  • Entry- to mid-level in experience (0 to 6 years)

  • BS or MS degree in a field related to geography, atmospheric/environmental  science, engineering, etc.

  • Self-motivated, with ability to learn and grow on the job

  • Enjoy working both independently and within a group environment

We are looking for the following suite of skills

  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS software platforms and applications (ArcPRO, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online)

  • Skilled with spatial analysis using geoprocessing tools to extract, clean, and analyze datasets

  • Ability to make organized GIS data sets and geodatabases with an understanding of the importance of metadata (and sometimes cleaning up data sets provided by others so we can retain a high standard of quality)

  • Knowledge of GIS-based python scripting for automating analyses and tasks. This will often require listening to our non-GIS staff and client needs (and our crazy ideas), and developing new scripts and innovative techniques that can help meet the demanding and ever-changing and expanding needs of our clients.

  • Experience with data analysis and python scripting using Jupyter Notebooks is a huge plus -- we don't do all of our data analysis in GIS

  • Strong technical and analytical skills

  • Legally entitled to work in the U.S.

  • Located in the San Francisco Bay Area

During normal, non-Covid19 times, we have an office in San Francisco, CA.

During the global pandemic, 100 percent of our staff are working from home. We plan to continue working 100-percent remotely until sometime in 2022. However, we have always encouraged staff to work from home when needed.
