Invited by the UC Berkeley Center for Law, Energy and the Environment, Dr. Kris May, Daisy Ramírez López, and Meagan Brown served as authors for the San Francisco Bay Area Regional Report for California’s Fifth Climate Change Assessment.

Pathways Climate Institute authors developed the groundwater rise chapter leveraging their expertise from the development of regional groundwater datasets for Bay Area counties. Pathways authors introduced groundwater rise hazard and science for the first time in California’s Fifth Climate Change Assessment.

The California’s Fifth Climate Change Assessment is expected to be released in the summer of 2026.
